How We Use AI

Every Little Disciples class is taught live by Mrs. Kiki, a qualified teacher and a real person, in real time. There is no AI teacher, no AI avatar, no synthetic voice and no chatbot standing in for a person. If you are ever talking to us, you are talking to us.

We think this is worth writing down, because “live online learning” is starting to mean different things at different companies, and you should not have to guess which kind we are.

Your child’s name, date of birth, photograph, attendance record, teacher notes and class video are never used to train an artificial intelligence model, by us or by anyone else. We do not sell or license that information to AI companies, and we do not feed it into public AI tools.

When our teacher writes a note about your child, that note is written by her, about your child, for you and for her own record. It is not generated and it does not leave our systems.

We are a small school and we use ordinary software tools, some of which have AI in them. Being straight about that is more useful than pretending otherwise:

• Building and maintaining this website. AI coding assistance is used to write and review the software that runs this site, in the same way most small teams now work.
• Drafting and tidying our own writing. Marketing copy, newsletters and lesson descriptions may be drafted or edited with help. A person reads and approves everything before it reaches you.
• Ideas for activities. A teacher may use AI the way she would use a book of activity ideas. What actually gets taught is chosen by her, and our curriculum is written by people.

We do not use AI to:

• teach, supervise or interact with a child;
• assess a child, or decide anything about their placement or progress;
• analyse class video or audio, including any form of face recognition, emotion detection or attention tracking;
• generate images or video of a child;
• decide anything about your account, your billing or your enrolment.

Decisions about children are made by their teacher, and decisions about your account are made by a person.

If we ever want to use AI in a way that touches your child or their data, we will tell you before we do it and ask permission — not bury it in an updated policy. We would rather lose the feature than surprise you with it.
