Cookies

These keep you signed in, hold your place if you are halfway through enrolling, and remember the cookie choice you made so we stop asking. They do not track you across other websites and there is no way to run the site without them.

Set by us and by Supabase, which handles signing in. Our own consent record is stored under ldla.cookie-consent.v2 in your browser, not on our servers.

Google Analytics and PostHog, if you allow them, tell us which pages families actually read and where they give up. We use that to fix confusing pages — most of all the signup form, which is eleven steps long and is the thing we most need to know people are getting stuck on. IP addresses are anonymised.

PostHog can also record a session: a replay of the pages you visited and where you clicked. Everything you type is masked before it leaves your browser — a name, an email address, a date of birth or a card number is never in a recording, and card fields belong to Stripe and are never ours to record in the first place.

This now includes your account. It used not to, and we have changed it deliberately, so here is exactly what that means. When a game will not start, a button does nothing, or a page breaks on your phone, we have no way of knowing unless you tell us — and most people quite reasonably do not tell us, they just stop coming. So PostHog measures your account pages too: which parts of it you use, how often you come back, and where something goes wrong.

What we hold back from it on those pages: your child’s name, your email address and anything your teacher has written about your child are masked out of recordings at the moment the page is drawn, so they are never sent at all. We do not record your child’s progress page, which is the one that is mostly their name and their teacher’s notes about them — we only count that it was opened. And your family is identified to PostHog by an account number, never by name.

None of this is advertising, and none of it goes to Facebook or Google. It is the school looking at its own software. If you would rather we did not, turn analytics off and we will not — the switch below is the same one, and it works on these pages too.

We advertise to parents on Facebook and Google. If you allow it, their cookies tell us whether an advertisement led to an enrolment, so we are not spending on ads that reach nobody.

These are the cookies people most often mean when they worry about tracking, so two promises about them. Nothing loads until you say yes — declining means the scripts are never fetched at all, not merely told to behave. And they never run on any page you sign in to reach — not your account, not your child’s progress, not the games — so your child’s name, class and birthday are never sent to an advertising network. That rule has not changed and is not going to: the measurement described above is ours and stays ours.

You can switch these on or off whenever you like. You can also clear cookies in your browser, or use its “do not track” setting — we honour Global Privacy Control signals where your browser sends one.
